Hills Equine Long Term Blend
Ryegrass, phalaris and clover free perennial blend suitable for equine. A safe, high NDF pasture that is low in sugar whilst still containing the legume, lucerne to assist in nitrogen fixation. The blend is capable of set stocking for periods with varieties selected for good grazing tolerance.
Hills Equine Long Term Grasses Blend
Safe, high NDF (the fibre fraction that determines physical feed intake) content and lower sugar. This blend is capable of set stocking for periods with varieties selected for good grazing tolerance, however in year one it is important to establish good plant numbers by not grazing too often and for too long. Year 2 and beyond, this will be a robust horse pasture.
HFS Short Season Equine Quick Fix
Where overgrazing has occurred or for paddocks that are just tired and require a quick fix to get horses back in sooner rather than later. Quick-Fix is a blend of fast establishing, persistent horse safe grasses that are considered to be lower in WSC and higher in NDF. This mix is suitable for use as a low WSC hay option.
Hills Equine Short Season
A ‘hardy’ but safe option for horses containing high NDF content and lower sugar. Designed along very similar lines to Hills Equine Long Term but with the deep rooted perennial grasses being summer dormant varieties. This a clover free blend with lucerne in the mix as the preferred legume, being ideal for drier regions. This blend is capable of set stocking for periods with varieties selected for good grazing tolerance.
Hills Equine LE Perennial Hay Maker
A unique blend of ryegrasses and cocksfoot suited specifically for excellent hay yields and cutting late. A safe low endophyte blend that is low in sugar and high in NDF making it an excellent option for horse hay.
