Elanco Extinosad™ Aerosol for Wounds

Elanco Extinosad™ Aerosol for Wounds is a ready-to-use spray designed for the treatment and prevention of blowfly (Lucilia cuprina) strike in mulesing, marking, and other wounds of sheep, including strains resistant to organophosphates. The formulation combines spinosad, a potent insecticide, with chlorhexidine digluconate, an antiseptic, to provide comprehensive wound care.

This aerosol delivers rapid knockdown of maggots and includes a scourable blue dye to assist with application accuracy. Each 370 g can treats approximately 20 average-sized wounds, making it a convenient solution for managing flystrike in sheep.

Each 370 g can contains 2.8 g/kg spinosad and 0.39 g/kg chlorhexidine digluconate.

Shake well before use. Remove wool from over the wound using clippers or shears. Apply directly onto the wound and 25 mm into the surrounding wool until the area is wet and blue. A typical clipped flystrike wound (200 cm²) should take approximately 6 seconds to treat.

Store below 30°C (room temperature). Protect from sunlight and do not expose to temperatures exceeding 50°C. Do not pierce or burn, even after use.
